System Requirements
System Requirements for Skype:
The following System requirements for Windows need to be met for optimum Skype performance:
PC running Windows 2000, XP or Vista. (Windows 2000 users require DirectX 9.0 for video calls).
Internet connection (broadband is best, GPRS is not supported for voice calls, and results may vary on a satellite connection)
Speakers and microphone - built-in or separate.
For voice and video calls, a computer with at least a 1GHz processor, 256 MB RAM and of course a webcam is recommended.
For High Quality Video calls the user will need a high quality video webcam and software, a dual-core processor computer and a fast broadband connection (384 kbps).
System Requirements for Linux:
The minimum hardware requirements are as follows:
400 MHz Processor
128 MB RAM
10 MB disk space on hard drive
Sound card, speakers and Microphone
An Internet Connection (either dial up: min 33.6 kbps modem or other broadband: DSL, cable etc.).
System Requirements for MAC:
The minimum system requirements for Skype 2.0 for Mac are a Mac OS X v10.3.9 Panther or newer, G4 800 Mhz and above, any G5 or any Intel processor, 512MB RAM, 40 MB free disk space on your hard drive and a microphone.
