VOIPo Fax

Voipo offers Fax Services to its subscribers with the feature of receiving the faxes over Internet. The customer is provided with its own toll free fax number. When someone faxes some documents to this number, the fax document is converted to a PDF document the same is sent to the subscriber through E-Mail. In this service, the subscriber can also upload its document files and send faxes online to anywhere in the US right in its VOIPo control panel. The subscriber just needs to enter the fax number to send to and select a file on its computer. The fax is sent almost immediately to the intended fax number.
In fact the Fax Service from Voipo is not a standalone complete service. Rather this is an optional add on service with the Residential Service. Once a Residential Account is established with VOIPo, the subscriber is presented with the option to purchase a Fax to E-Mail add on account. When a calling party faxes through a traditional fax line to the destination fax number of the subscriber, the fax is converted to a “.PDF” file and forwarded to a destination E-Mail address as configured by the subscriber. This E-Mail address is changeable through the given web interface at anytime the subscriber wants to.
The prices for this service are very much economical and affordable. Estimated Pricing for this service is $4.95/ Month (Paid Monthly). The subscriber can chose to bring down the cost to $36/Year or $3 a month if paid Annually. In this cost, Voipo offers the subscriber to enjoy Unlimited faxing within the continental US.
Officially, Voipo is not in providing the Fax service. According to one of their officials, unfortunately, faxing over VoIP will never be fully reliable so that is why Voipo does not officially support it. In ideal situations with a clean connection, slow fax machine speed, etc, it may work, but since VoIP was not designed for faxing, Voipo cannot guarantee if it would or would not work, and if Voipo cannot guarantee something, it in fact cannot support it officially.
Many users have found faxing works for them unofficially though and may be able to offer some advice. One of their technical support official advises that due to the nature of all VoIP services, VOIPo service is not designed to be used for data connections with modems, home security systems, fax machines and related devices. It is optimized for voice only and the customer may experience issues and inconsistencies when using VOIPo service in non-voice scenarios.
